About The Art of Adaptation

Sometimes I wonder why I chose to write a blog about my physical shortcomings. I have always considered myself to be just like any other person and never perceived my personal identity through the lens of cerebral palsy. In fact, sometimes I considered it to be completely out of the picture.

That is not to say that having CP does not present challenges in daily life. In order to function, I must adapt to the world around me because sometimes the phrase “handicapped accessible” is not wholeheartedly true.

In this blog, I will write about my daily experiences as it relates to the challenges that I face. I will bring you along with me through my journey towards greater independence as I work to get my license and go through the process of getting a service dog.

Follow along with me as I adapt to life, finding new and inventive ways in which I fit into the world.
